William L. Pope

Firm Partner

Judge Pope joined the firm in 1986. He attended the UNT-Texas College of Osteopathic Medicine and Baylor University School of Law. His area of practice is general civil litigation, including commercial, transactional, healthcare, employment and tax law. He is a member of the American College of Legal Medicine and is licensed to practice before the U.S. Tax Court and the U.S. Supreme Court.

Litigating in both state and federal courts throughout Texas for almost forty years, he has successfully taken numerous cases through both jury and bench trials. Judge Pope has innovatively represented clients ranging from small family owned businesses to large international corporations. His healthcare practice has defended physicians, physician assistants and nurses before their respective licensing boards as well as against professional negligence litigation. He has also provided legal counsel on contractual, transactional, and governmental compliance issues to businesses and individuals throughout Texas as well as northern Mexico.

Qualified as an Impartial Third Party under the Texas Civil Practice & Remedies Code to serve as both a general civil and family law mediator, he completed extensive advanced alternative dispute resolution training at the Attorney-Mediators Institute as well as the Worklife Institute, both in Houston, Texas.

Serving nearly forty years as a municipal court judge and state magistrate in multiple jurisdictions, Judge Pope was honored with a resolution by the Texas House of Representatives citing his many years of support to the Texas judiciary.
