We have successfully represented health care clients at administrative proceedings before their respective licensing boards. We have represented medical committees and individual practitioners in peer review matters governed by the Health Care Quality Improvement Act of 1986 and various state statutes affecting the ability of a practitioner to exercise his or her privileges to include applicable provisions of the Medical Practice Act and Nurse Practice Act. One of the Firm’s cases was featured in Texas Medicine. In that matter the Firm was successful forcing a hospital to issue a retraction letter for a wrongfully peer reviewed physician.
Our trial lawyers have successfully defended health care providers and institutions against health care liability claims in state, federal and appellate courts in South Texas for more than 40 years. Our firm has successfully defended class action lawsuits filed against hospitals and hospital systems. We are assisted by a registered nurse who aids in evaluating medical-legal issues in professional liability cases.
We have assisted clients conduct internal investigations in order to assess compliance with state and federal health care program requirements and have assisted clients self-disclose to the Texas Health and Human Services Commission’s Office of Inspector General as well as the Office of Inspector General for the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.
