The firm’s appellate practice section is involved in appeals at various levels of state and federal courts, including cases tried by other firms. The appellate section assists to ensure that litigation attorneys get the best result possible in the trial court. The attorneys in the appellate section at times assist in immediate evaluation and action for an appeal.

​The appellate practice at Adams & Graham, L.L.P. has assisted clients with the following:

Litigation Strategy – by coordinating with trial attorneys to ensure victories are affirmed and errors reversed;

Summary Judgment – by working to prepare comprehensive motions and responses;

Interlocutory Appeals – by working with trial attorneys to prepare temporary injunctions, challenge personal jurisdiction, and preparation of official immunity motions;

Jury Charge – by working with trial attorneys to prepare and argue jury questions and instructions;

Original Proceedings – by working with attorneys to seek writs of mandamus for challenging trial court rulings, preparation of briefs and performing oral arguments;

Post-Judgment Proceedings – by representing clients on all aspects to challenge or attack the trial court judgment, including the protection of assets or suspending execution during the appeal;

Appellate Advocacy – by identifying issues, plus briefing and arguing the appeal.

The firm’s appellate practice is lead by Roger W. Hughes, who is Board Certified in Civil Appellate Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization.
